Do you Really Want To Start A Home Business?

People start a home business for various reasons. Some want a better quality of life, some want more time with family and friends, and others want wealth, and the list goes on. But no matter the reasons for starting a business of your own, there are realities that one must face. First and foremost, starting a business is hard work.
Unfortunately, individuals starting a business don’t realize the amount of work it takes to build a business. They hear all the promises of wealth, nice vacations, no more job, etc. but many members of home business opportunities have not informed those starting a business the amount of work that is required. Thus, those who are just starting a home business come in with unrealistic dreams of success overnight or in a relatively short amount of time.
Once these individuals find out how hard it is to build a business, they soon give up and move on to another company, again with the same unrealistic expectations, or they quit altogether.
The truth of the matter is, building a home business is a process. It will not happen overnight and it may not happen in the first, second or third year. I am sure you have heard of people who have tried for five, six, or more years to build a successful business. For example, look at Mike Dillard. Here is a man who quit his job and worked as a waiter while trying for six years to reach success. Not many have this kind of drive and passion and these two characteristics are what one needs in order to overcome the many obstacles you will encounter during your business building process.
The primary reason it takes so long is due to lack of skills in marketing. Think about it for a moment. Many of you have been working at jobs for many years. While at your job, did anyone take the time out to teach you how to market a business? The answer is, NO. Not unless your job was in sales or real estate and then maybe you may have had some kind of marketing or sales training, but most of us have not.
The necessity of marketing skills is one key to success in any business, yet still, those individuals who are told this do little to nothing in trying to learn these skills. Some say its too hard, it costs too much money, I don’t have the time, and more excuses. But, I want you to do one thing. Ask yourself why you started a home business in the first place and what did you think it was going to be like in building a business? Did you think it was going to be easy? You may have heard the many struggles that Donald Trump has gone through and if you know anything about Robert Kiyosaki, you know it was not easy for him. This is true for most successful entrepreneurs. They had to overcome many very difficult obstacles for a number of years before they achieved their success. So, why did you think it was going to be any different for you?
I believe the reasons those who became successful is due to the fact that they finally got it. After all their struggle and hardships, they learned from those struggles and hardships what not to do and they learned how to properly market themselves and their business.
Here is another question I ask you. What are you currently doing to build your business? If you are using offline marketing, you are probably talking to as many people as you can or you have purchased leads and doing cold calling, or placing ads in various newspapers, and maybe using other offline marketing methods. If you are using online marketing, you are probably using the various social marketing sites to market you and your business, or you are submitting articles, or using pay-per-click or more.
But I bet most of you are doing little to nothing. Why? Have you given up? If so, then I assume you have returned to your jobs, but if you are here looking at this, you probably have not totally given up but still not in full action in building your business.
I hear often people who tell me that they want a home business and then initially get into action and then steadily pull back. Here’s the thing. If you say you want a business and then do little to nothing, you are setting yourself up for failure or have already failed and just don’t know it. It is one thing to say you want something, but it is another thing to put what you say into action for the long haul and work at it until you achieve success. But, again, most will not. It is your actions or lack of actions that determines your success and the first thing you must do is to invest in yourself by getting those marketing skills down.
Here is something very, very interesting that happened to me today. I took my mother to her doctor’s appointment. While I was sitting in the waiting room, I overhead these two men talking and what they were talking about owning a business and the economy.
One of the men talking was a successful entrepreneur who had a number of businesses throughout the United States. He talked about his real estate company and other companies that he owned, including his seven bedroom vacation home in Florida. The other man involved in the conversation, did not own any businesses but seemed very interested in what this man had to say.
Here is where it gets interesting. During the conversation, the wealthy man discusses his conversation with another very wealthy man. It was mentioned that this very wealthy man owned companies all over the world. At this point, I want to mention that I am going to refer to the wealthy man who sitting in the doctor’s office as Man 1 and the other man who owns numerous companies around the world as Man 2.
Man 1 shares his conversation that he had with Man 2. Man 1 stated that Man 2 did not believe that the real estate market was going to change, at least not in our lifetime. This is not very good news for me considering I own a real estate investment company. Just about my entire rental properties are upside down. This home I recently bought is not, but I know that it is just a matter of time where it will be.
He also mentioned that he foresees that the current currency in the U.S. along with all of the other countries was going to be a currency used worldwide. In the United States, he felt that the dollar bill was going to be replaced by this new form of currency. Now, I have heard and read about this possibility, but it was interesting to hear this from someone else.
And, here is another interesting piece of the conversation. Man 2 felt that gold and silver were going to become of more importance in many people’s lives due to the fact that the value of the dollar bill was continuing to decrease. Man 1 even stated that he had started buying silver and gold and I know of another woman in one of my businesses had taken half of her savings and invested in silver and gold.
Although silver and gold may have decreased some but it seemingly is not as volatile as the dollar. Man 1 also mentioned that when you invest in silver and gold, the best approach is to treat it as an investment, meaning don’t sell it immediately. Keep it as you would your 401K and other types of investments.
One of the last statements I heard during this conversation was that Man 2 said the economy here in the United States, as well as in other countries, is going to continue to get worse before it gets any better.
You may be wondering now why I am telling you this. First, I see too many people who say they want a business and then do hardly anything to help them and help their businesses. These individuals don’t realize that their actions or inaction have already determined that they are destined to fail or have already failed. That is one point.
The next point is, I am a member of a company that markets silver and gold. It is a good company that is taking off and is one way that will allow anyone to invest in silver and gold. I chose this company because I knew that silver and gold was something to invest in and how did I know? By listening to many of the wealthy. Keep in mind, the wealthy got there for a reason and a lot of it has to do with the choices they made. Those who are living paycheck to paycheck or are struggling have not made very good choices so should I listen to them or should I listen to the wealthy individuals. By observing and listening to what the wealthy are saying and doing, I made the decision to join a company that would be beneficial to me and my family in the long run.
In other words, I am trying to plan ahead. My personal belief is I don’t think the government is telling us everything and probably because they don’t want to cause a panic. But, if things continue to get worse; such as the housing market, cost of living continues to go up, job loss continues, and the middle and poor class continue losing ground and eventually hope, while many of the rich continue to get wealthier, it is inevitable that many people are going to suffer like never before, probably worse than what happened during the depression.
In conclusion, I am not trying to make things look dismal, but I what I am trying to do is to help you to open your eyes and ears and starting making plans for your future. I know some of you are and maybe it is working for you. Well, I am not talking to those; this article is referring to those who have not made any future plans. If you have started a home business, I suggest you re-evaluate your reasons for starting a business and if you are not getting the proper marketing training or doing anything to build a business, ask yourself why? Now, more than ever, is the time to start planning for your future and your family’s future. Do you have a plan? If not, you had better start working on one. Now is the time to take better control of your life because if you are not in control of your life, someone else is.

MLM Opportunities have strange ways of presentation. While you may search heavily for it everywhere, they will stand there silently, waiting to be found. They will not knock on your door or pat on your back to grab your attention.
They will stand there; appear in disguise waiting for you to recognize them and lift the veil from their faces. They demand action from you, yet they won’t give the slightest hint to its existence. Why?
Someone who seeks an MLM opportunity will eventually find one. When, how and where entirely depends on the sharpness of the seeker. MLM Opportunities are already there. If we are not conscious, we don’t see one. Only when we start becoming conscious, will we find one.
Recently, a friend of mine critically asked me “If home businesses on the internet can bring so much wealth and freedom to oneself, how come everybody is not sitting at home and earning?” He was trying to negate that money can be earned by online businesses. I tried to explain to him about online earning but he was not ready to accept the reason.
“I think that it is a waste of time.” He completely rejected my stance on home businesses. He was not conscious of the fact and he could not be subjected to reason. My conclusion was that a home business is not for him.
First step to finding and MLM opportunity is to believe that it exists. One must accept that it is there. Then one must become conscious of the home business’ earning potential. When you become conscious of something, you start noticing that in abundance. If you are not conscious of something, you can’t see what MLM opportunities are out there.

Nature has designed things in this fashion to avoid the revelation to the unprepared and thus unworthy. One who can recognize the opportunity and acts to tap into it is an able person. Other individuals will either not find the chance to tap into the opportunity or let it pass without utilization.
Home businesses on the internet have produced millionaires. Countless people started with limited resources and now earn unlimited wealth. What did they do? They recognized an opportunity and took action. The had eyes for the opportunity and audacity for taking action. That is what makes them stand apart in addition to the wealth they have acquired.

Taking action is the second step towards tapping into an opportunity. Taking action is a must, if you want to generate a lucrative income from the MLM opportunity. But there seems to be something missing here. I use the internet. I have become very good at internet marketing. My specialty is any type of marketing that uses keywords, but I didn’t learn how by myself. I joined a system that taught me a lot about marketing. All I did was put what I learned into action and with practiced started generating leads and income. You too can do the same. Don’t depend on your company to give you the skills you need. You are an entrepreneur now. Find yourself a resource that will help you to overcome all the reasons why most people fail in the network marketing and MLM industries. I stress this because without marketing skills, you are destined to fail. Give yourself a chance to experience success by taking the steps necessary that will help you make your dreams come true.

Home Business Tax Deduction Benefits

Every year, several thousand people develop an interest in “going into business”. Many of these people have an idea, a product or service they hope to promote into an income producing business which they can operate from their homes.
If you are one of these people, here are some practical thoughts to consider before hanging out the “Open-for-Business” sign.
In areas zoned “Residential Only,” your proposed business could be illegal. In many areas, zoning restrictions rule out home businesses involving the coming and going of many customers, clients or employees. Many businesses that sell or even store anything for sale on the premises also fall into this category.
Be sure to check with your local zoning office to see how the ordinances in your particular area may affect your business plans. You may need a special to operate your business from your home, and you may find that making small changes in your plan will put you into the position of meeting zoning standards.
Many communities grant home occupation permits for businesses that involve typing, sewing and teaching, but turn thumbs down or requests for photographers, interior decorators and home-improvement businesses to be run from the home. And often, even if you are permitted to use your home for a given business, there will be restrictions that you may need to take into consideration. By all means, work with you zoning people, and save yourself time, trouble and dollars.
One of the requirements imposed might be off-street parking for your customers or patrons. And, signs are generally forbidden in residential districts. If you teach, there is almost always a limit on the number of students you may have at any one time.
Obtaining zoning approval for you business, could be as simple as filling out an application, or it could involve a public hearing. The important points the zoning officials will consider will center around how your business will affect the neighborhood.
Will it increase the traffic noticeably on your street? Will there be a substantial increase in noise? And how will your neighbors feel about this business alongside their homes?
To repeat, check into the zoning restrictions, and then check again to determine if you will need a city license. If you are selling something, you may need a vendor’s license, and be required to collect sales taxes on your transactions. The sales tax requirement would result in the need for careful record keeping.
Licensing can be an involved process, and depending upon the type of business, it could even involve the inspection of your home to determine if it meets with local health and building and fire codes. Should this be the case, you will need to bring your facilities up to the local standards. Usually this will involve some simple repairs or adjustments that you can either do personally, or hire out to a handyman at a nominal cost.
Still more items to consider: Will your homeowner’s insurance cover the property and liability involved in you in your new business? This must be resolved., so be sure to talk it over with your insurance agent.
Tax deductions, which were once one of the beauties of engaging in a home business, are not what they once were. To be eligible for business related tax deduction today, you have to use that part of your home claimed exclusively and regularly as either the principal location of your business, or the place reserved to meet patients, clients, or customers.
An interesting case in point: If you use your den or a spare bedroom as the principal place of business, working there from 8:00 to 5:00 every day, but permit your children to watch television in that room during the evening hours, the IRS dictates that you cannot claim a tax deduction for that room as your office or place of business.
There are a couple of exceptions to not to the “exclusive use” rule. One is the storage of inventory in your home, where your home is the location of your trade or business, and approval for your business. You could then be a trade or business that is selling products at retail or wholesale. According to the IRS, such storage space must be used on a regular basis, and be a separately identifiable space.
Another exception applies to day care services that are provided for children, the elderly, or physically or mentally handicapped. This exception applies only if the owner of the facility complies with the state laws for licensing.
To be eligible for home business tax deductions, your business must be an activity under taken with the intent of making a profit. It is presumed you meet this requirement if your business makes a profit in any two years of a five year period.
Once you are this far along, you can deduct business expenses; such as, supplies, subscriptions to professional journals, and an allowance for the business use of car or truck. You can also claim tax deductions for home related business expenses; such as, utilities, and in some cases, even a new paint job for your home.
The IRS is going to treat that part of our home that you use for your business as though it were a separate piece of property. This means that you will need to keep good records and take care not to mix business and personal matters. No specific method of record keeping is required, but your records must clearly justify any deductions you claim.
You can begin calculating what percentage of the house is used for your business either by number of rooms or by square footage. Thus, if you use one of five rooms for your business, the business portion is 20%. If you run your business out of a room that is 10 by 20 feet, and the total area of your home is 1,200 square feet, the business-space factor is 10%.
An extra computation is required if your business is a home day care center. This is one of the exempted activities in which the exclusive use rule doesn’t apply. Check with your tax preparer and the IRS for an exact determination.
If you’re a renter, you can deduct the part of your rent which is attributable to the business share of your house or apartment. Homeowners can take a deduction based on the depreciation of the business portion of their house.
There is a limit to the amount you can deduct. This is the amount equal to the gross income generated by the business, minus those home expenses you could deduct even if you weren’t operating a business from your home. As an example, real estate taxes and mortgage interest are deductable regardless of any business activity in your home, so you must subtract from your business’ gross income the percentage that’s belongs to the business portion of your home. You thus arrive at the maximum amount for home business tax deductions.
If you are self-employed, you can claim your business deductions on Schedule C, Profit (or Loss) for Business or Profession. The IRS emphasizes that claiming home business tax deductions does not automatically trigger an audit of your tax return. Although, it is always wise to stay within the proper guidelines, and of course, keep detailed records if you claim business related expenses when you are working out of your home. You should discuss this aspect of your operation with your tax preparer or person qualified in the field of small business tax requirements.
If your business earnings aren’t subject to withholding tax, and your estimated federal taxes are $100 or more, you will probably be filing a Declaration of Estimated Tax, Form 1040-ES. To complete this form, you will have to estimate your income for the upcoming year and also make a computation of the income tax and self-employment tax you will owe. The self-employment taxes pay for Social Security coverage.
If you have a salaried job covered by Social Security, the self-employment tax applies only to the amount of your home business income that, when added to your salary, reaches the current ceiling. When you file your Form 1040-ES, which is due April 15th, you must make the first of four equal installment payments on your estimated tax bill.
Another good way to trim your taxes is by setting up a Keogh plan or an Individual Retirement Account. With either of these, you can shelter some of your home business income from taxes by investing it for your retirement.
